I faced this error as I was using Eclipse to run the application that I build, the error log simply shows :-

at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(Unknown Source)
Exception in thread "main"
I read some articles it mentioned that this happens when I try to a different version of JVM (e.g. JVM version 1.5) to run a code that is compiled with a different version of JDK (e.g. javac with version 1.4).
And this would cause this error.
