JOHOR BARU: Police have detained a woman in her 20s over a botched robbery at Taman Majidee on June 1, which left one of the three robbers and a 19-year-old girl dead.
State Police Chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said the woman was nabbed at Taman Mount Austin and police seized a stolen laptop and several mobile phones.
“We believe this woman was an accomplice,” he told reporters during a press conference at the police headquarters here yesterday.
DCP Mohd Mokhtar urged anyone with information on the case to contact 07-2212 999.
During the incident, Cheng Jun Wei was injured when a security guard opened fire on the three robbers who had used her as a human shield while trying to escape with stolen goods from her house at Taman Majidee. She died on June 3.
