Medical Card > Guranteed Renewability

Posted by Kian, Ting

Medical Card > Guranteed Renewability

What does the term Guranteed Renewability means, when buying a medical card it is important that you ask about this factor.

If the medical card you buy has a life time limit on it, then it is usually the case that the medical card has a guranteed renewability.

What does this means, ok for example you bought a medical card and have a claim of RM 10,000 at year 2007. So if your card has guranteed renewability then after this claim next year you will still be eligible to claim (as long as the sum of all your claims is still under the life time limit).

For a card that has "no guranteed renewability", the first year you may be able to claim for RM 10,000, then after that the Insuracne company has the right to review and decide weather to renew the contract of your medical card or not, if not then you will not have any more medical coverage.

AL PACINO PEACE WITH INCHES SPEECH LYRICS

Posted by Kian, Ting

I don’t know what to say, really. Three minutes till the biggest battle of our professional lives all comes down to today. Now either we heal as a team or we’re gonna crumble, inch by inch, play by play, 'til we’re finished.

We’re in hell right now, gentlemen, believe me. And, we can stay here -- get the shit kicked out of us -- or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell one inch at a time.

Now, I can’t do it for you. I’m too old. I look around. I see these young faces, and I think -- I mean -- I made every wrong choice a middle-aged man can make. I, uh, I pissed away all my money, believe it or not. I chased off anyone who’s ever loved me. And lately, I can’t even stand the face I see in the mirror.

You know, when you get old in life things get taken from you. I mean that's...part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losing stuff. You find out life’s this game of inches. So is football. Because in either game, life or football, the margin for error is so small -- I mean one-half a step too late, or too early, and you don’t quite make it. One-half second too slow, too fast, you don’t quite catch it.

The inches we need are everywhere around us.

They’re in every break of the game, every minute, every second.

On this team, we fight for that inch. On this team, we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch, because we know when we add up all those inches that’s gonna make the fuckin' difference between winning and losing! Between livin' and dyin'!

I’ll tell you this: In any fight, it’s the guy who’s willing to die who’s gonna win that inch. And I know if I’m gonna have any life anymore, it’s because I’m still willin' to fight and die for that inch. Because that’s what livin' is! The six inches in front of your face!!

Now I can’t make you do it. You got to look at the guy next to you. Look into his eyes! Now I think you’re gonna see a guy who will go that inch with you. You're gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team because he knows, when it comes down to it, you’re gonna do the same for him!

That’s a team, gentleman!

And, either we heal, now, as a team, or we will die as individuals.

That’s football guys.

That's all it is.

Now, what are you gonna do?

NLP Continued

"Einstein reduced physics to what psychologists call "guided fantasy," but which Einstein referred to as a "thought experiment." He visualized what it would be like to ride on the end of a beam of light. And people say that he was academic and objective! One of the results of this particular thought experiment was his famous theory of relativity."

"NLP differs only in that we deliberately make up lies, in order to try to understand the subjective experience of a human being. When you study subjectivity, there's no use trying to be objective. "

I find how Einstein's though on Physics really interesting, he referred to the subject of physics as a collective "Thought Experiment", but really how often have I experimented on my thoughts, my thoughts and ideas about businesses, and thought and ideas on computer systems to build. A practical way to live a life is to experiment with thoughts. I remember reading this in the Biography of Gandhi too, he too was a practical man, who experimented with thoughts.

The World As I See It !!!

Posted by Kian, Ting

I am reading a book "Written by Einstine"

http://www.amazon.com/World-As-I-See/dp/080650711X/ref=si3_rdr_bb_product/102-2016436-6036100

There is a very meaningful quote :

"What is the meaning of human life, or of organic life altogether? To answer
this question at all implies a religion. Is there any sense then, you ask, in
putting it? I answer, the man who regards his own life and that of his
fellow-creatures as meaningless is not merely unfortunate but almost
disqualified for life."

A hundred times every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life depend on the labors
of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in
the same measure as I have received and am still receiving.

These above two quotes are from Einstein, these two quotes I understand, but what do with Schopenhauer when he say "A man can do as he will but not will as he will !" There is absolutely no tough English vocabulary in this quote but what does this simple sentence mean ?

Reading this book make me ashame of my self of the violent behavior that I may sometimes adhere to when I am angered. Martial Arts learned is not merely to fight, but to cultivate the body and in that effort to cultivate the body so should the mind be cultivated as such.

The book is all about anti-violence about anti-war. Autocratic governmental systems wont last for long because it attracts people with low morale, It is true and it is proven in history. Why do you want power, when it is not to serve people ? What is it for ? If it is for respect, then what do you mean by respect ? Respect because of your merit and your being or because of the fake mask you are wearing ?

Who is Herr Gumbel? Einstein mentioned that every one should read his book.

Upon Reading I found another very meaningfull phrase :-

"It is not the fruits of scientific research that elevate a man and enrich his nature, but the urge to understand, the intellectual work, creative or receptive."

It is the urge to understand, not the fruits of science, the fruits of science are as a result of the understanding the intellectual work of creative and receptive people.

The true value of a human being is determined primarily by the measure
and the sense in which he has attained to liberation from the self.

SQL Server 2000 Optimization

Posted by Kian, Ting

Indexing is to optimize searching response time, in lay man terms indexing in database would enable you to search for records faster.

Use the query stated in the Code tag to check for the indexes that has been automatically created.

SELECT name
FROM sysindexes

WHERE (name LIKE '%_WA_Sys%')

References:-
http://www.sql-server-performance.com/optimizing_indexes.asp

Before you index, you need to run the SQL Server Profiler, to see which field in which table your search hit the most, but a word of caution is that when you do indexing put in mind the insert and update performance to that particular table, Index can speed up a table search but it can also slow down table insert and updates.

There are two types of Index:-

Working Life

Posted by Kian, Ting

Where to go in my career, what do I want in my life, this is a million dollar question. Most people when asked "What do you want?" will just drop dead and pause.

We keep moving moving, keep working and working, people play the game of not to loose, instead of playing to win. What is it like to play to win ?

Everyday Rushing Rushing, moving moving, no time, whish god would give me 48 hours.

But I am glad that god gave me a life, so not what is left to me is to find out what I want in this life, what I want to be, where I want to go. I need to figure this out, and once figured out need to commit to it and achive what ever I find out that I want.

I figure if One year I read 2 autobiography of a successfull person, by doing the same thing for 5 years, I would have read 10 autobiography, means I would have lived 10 lifes of successfull people, and perhaps after this I might find out just where I belong. yeah I will do this.

Pseudo Science

Posted by Kian, Ting

Reading what the term Pseudoscience means really scares me, the definition are found in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pseudoscience, it make me wonder what is true, what is false, what is quackery, what is bull shit, what is right.

There are so many pseudo science, in this world, pseudo science in lay man terms are like beliefs, and beliefs may be true or false, even NLP is disscussed Pseudoscience, people who know pseudo science believes that they are real, and teach other people about it with charging some fees for their classes, and these fees are not cheap, they are expensive, even astrology is a pseudoscience but there are astrological classes being thought, numerology classes, and even fung shui and ba zi, all the bull shitter, all the quacker, come out to write a book to futher corrupt the minds of the innocent, I hate this people.

What is true will prevail, and will one day come out, in front of your face, no matter how good you are at lying, but one day it will come out.

Effectiveness

Posted by Kian, Ting

It is not about how hard working you are, it dosent matter the hours you put in, the effort you put in, it dosent matter is the work is draining you out, or the work is wearing you down. Because it is the Result that matters the most. The result is that you get the work done.

If you have some thing to be done and doing that something is wearing you out or taking too much of your time then you simply are not effective at doing it, if that is the case then must break it down and look into it.

Use me as a case study, I am not effective at gettings things done, lets say creating and managing a software project. Now I drill down why am I taking so much time ?

Then I look, My reading speed in the R&D for the software is slow, so here is some thing I can improve on.

My technical knowledge of programming is not mature enough yet, this is somehting I can read more software developement books.

Now next is I jump from task to task, without completing the first task I jump to task two, I am bad at closing a task, why is that so ? I lack of focus. Lack of speed and urgency to complete a task. I am focus, and very urgent, I can complete a task quickly and move to the next. Completing my task earlier, would mean that I would have more time to do other stuff, other personal stuff.

About Software Installation Guides

Posted by Kian, Ting

There are a few Cycles in Software Developemen, but there is one stage in software developement know as Implementation, we all knwo to have a smooth transition of the software implementation we need to create a document called software installation Guide.

In side this document you need to provide the
a) Over view of the entire software
b) Setps for installation
c) Configurations and the causes of every alternative configuration
d) Instrution to test a successfull configuration

If your software installation guide has all of these three things then only can it be called a complete installation guide।

Installation guide is very different from a User guide, as installation is to deal with setup and configuration, where as user guide is strictly to teach the user how to use the software।

After This Our Exile

This is indeed a great movie, it depicts how some Malaysians really is, it shows the Middle class chinese, how they lived, how life is, there is no fairy tale about the stories in the movie, it is a sad movie, but it paints a picture about many chinese families, it is so true about life, about how some people just let life drift away.
The link to the movie :-

It is true about how some people just dont know what they were doing is wrong, and they keep on doing the wrong things and then justify to themselves how this is the last time, justifying how this time I will change but end up being the same person.
This is my greatest fear, I fear I will be like that some one, if I am allowed to only have one prayer, let my prayer, be
"God please not let me be ignorant",
"God please let me be wise"
"God please let me be humble"
"God please let me see things as they are and not what I precieve them to be"
"God please let me be aware of my self and my beings"
"God please not let me lie to my self"
"God please let me be a good son, a good grand son, a good father for my future childrens, a good husband for my future wife,"
"God please let me be a good man, a wise man".
A Baby is like a piece of white cloth, the picture of what they will grow up to be, is a picture painted by it's parents. Children are innocent, and they should not suffer for the wrong decisions adults have made.
I am an adult, I dont want to make a wrong decision, I am afraid too, but no decision is wrong as long as it is based on love, love not only to 1 party but to all that is in my life, my family, my other half, my friends. "God please not let me be selfish."
This movie is also about the silent sorrow of a child growing up in such a broken family, where everything is insecure, where a child is not loved, where a child is abandoned by parents, when both of the parents part and go their seperate way, I will never leave my child, I will never, I have recieved great love from my mother, I know the feeling of being loved for a child is very important.
I am who I am today because of my mothers love and my grand mother's love, I miss my grand ma alot, she passed away during last year chinese new year. I miss her, she loves me alot, I miss her very much, I feel pain and ache in my heart, when I think back and remembered, when I was small she gave me bath, she loved me, and no matter what my father does, she will say they I must love him respect him , I must study hard, be a usefull human being when I grow up. I miss her alot, because of her love too I am who I am today. I am gratefull for what I have and I because of what I have I need to give out more to change this world and make it a better place.
